Agents and Guaranteed Scholarships:
There are several fake agents all over the country who are enrolling students at different Chinese universities, especially non-MOE-listed universities, under the guise of “guaranteed scholarships.” For instance, you will see various advertisements circulating on websites, Facebook, WhatsApp groups, Instagram pages, and in the form of paper pamphlets shared at MDCAT test centers (or even on doorsteps).
- Fully-funded scholarships
- Study medicine in China on a scholarship
- Full tuition waiver Scholarships in MBBS
- MBBS in a One-time lump sum amount.
- 100% scholarship for MBBS in China.
This is a very commonly conducted scholarship scam targeting students with high grades in HSSC. They are trapped by magnifying the significance of good marks to avail themselves of a scholarship for the MBBS degree. Later on, they either get admissions into a Chinese language program or a Chinese medium university, where students need to pass Chinese language tests to get promoted in MBBS, which is self-financed only.
In addition to this, scam services are available in the market for students with low marks who are still convinced they can gain admission and a scholarship for MBBS in China. As a result, unauthorized consultants may forge fake documents for students instead of helping them understand that Chinese universities have strict eligibility criteria that every international student must follow. Be very cautious when using these services, as they are provided by temporary agents.
Misconception on CSC Scholarship:
CSC (China Scholarship Council) does not cover the MBBS scholarships at all. CSC is a nonprofit organization of China that supports financial aid to international students in various academic programs. This type of governmental scholarship is an initiative of the Chinese Ministry of Education to promote education with cultural exchange, mutual benefits, and political cooperation between other countries and China. This scholarship can be either partially or fully funded, but the fact is that CSC does not cover MBBS programs (even if there are any exceptions for MBBS, that’s very limited to be considered).
How can we recognize that an agent is fake?
- They will never tell you the Exact Tuition fee of the university.
- They will never provide you with the receipt for the tuition fee issued by the university.
- They have no authorization letter from the university where they are offering scholarships.
- Most of them are wandering agents; they have no registered office in Pakistan.
- They never visited China, Never Visited a single Chinese University.
Beware Please!
If any Chinese University provides you with any kind of Scholarship, the University will mention the Type of Scholarship in Clear words on your admission letter issued by the University with an official Stamp on it. If any Agent used the word “Scholarship” without providing you with the official Statement of Scholarship on the admission letter, that Agent is advertising a fake MBBS Scholarship.
